I can't even begin to cover how much I'm dealing with right now.

I need a break from reality.

Color Run Coimbra 2015 | ROSTOS

A little classicism for day 34. I was uninspired, so I tried for some composition. The bad thing is that the grapes were on the fridge, and so they looked kinda stained.

But, as my focus was on composition, I would say it's not a complete fail, after all. :)

Shot at the Aylmer Marina. I had no idea how wide the field of view was on the camera, so it wasn't quite framed how I thought it would be! Plus it's overexposed, but who's counting? ;-)

Looking down into the Blue Hole

Built on the shores of Bay of Bengal in Mahabalipuram (India) in the early 8th century by the Pallava King Rajasimha. The shore temple actually consists of 2 back to back shrines, one facing the east (the bay), and the smaller one facing west.

Mahabalipuram was a flourishing sea port in the times of Periplus and Ptolemy (140 AD). It stands on the edge of the Bay of Bengal. At high tide, the waves sweep into its compounds. The walls and their sculptures have been battered and eroded by the winds and waves for thirteen hundred years. Yet they stand intact.

There is an old legend here that originally there were seven temples. Of these, six have been swallowed by the sea. Only one temple - the Shore Temple - has remained. There are evidences of submerged structures under the waves. Sporadic excavations are going on. But it is too early to say whether there really was a glorious city and six more temples which now lie submerged under the waves off the coast off Mahabalipuram.

DEVELOPING A MULTICULTURAL DESIGN PRACTICE

Design is neither a neutral nor objective force. It always reflects the values and intent of those who wield it. We can see this when products and services don’t align with the needs and values of the communities they impact. As companies scale to build products that engage communities globally, it is important the solutions they create are culturally intelligent. They should resonate with the localized values and experiences of the communities they serve. How do we develop cross-cultural design practices that empower individuals and communities to mobilize cultural knowledge? Join Black-led design collective Design to Divest and Salesforce for an interactive discussion on expanding the collective imagination of design as a discipline to create equitable products, services, and institutions.
