Recorde-se que os serviços do Hospital Pediátrico de Coimbra foram transferidos para novas instalações a 29 de Janeiro de 2011.
O antigo Sanatório em Celas, que fora Convento, foi transformado em Hospital Pediátrico por Santos Bessa e Bissaya Barreto e inaugurado a 1 de Junho de 1977.
O Hospital Pediátrico de Coimbra funciona actualmente na Rua Afonso Romão. A inauguração das novas instalações realizou-se a 5 de Fevereiro de 2011.
Astronomical Clock - It might look quite good, but its really not worth the wait. The ammount of people standing around on the hour waiting for it to chime would suggest that its good. Its absolute bobbins.
The centrepiece of the show that draws a crowd of spectators every time the clock strikes the hour is the procession of 12 Apostles. First the figure of Death, the skeleton on the right of the clock, give a pull on the rope that he holds in his right hand. In his left hand is an hourglass, which he raises and inverts. Two windows then open (see previous photo) and the clockwork Apostles move slowly round led by St Peter.
At the end of this part of the display, a cock crows and the clock chimes the hour. The other moving figures are a Turk, who shakes his head from side to side, Vanity, who looks at himself in a mirror and Greed, adapted from the original medieval stereotype of a Jewish moneylender.
