I thought I'd give you a bit wider view of yesterday's photo. Again, this is Neahkahnie, where Neahkahnie mountain meets the Pacific Ocean. Those rocks that are furthest out are the ones I was zoomed in on. I figured you could appreciate this amazing place a bit more from this view. :) I'll show you the other side one of these days, though that seemed to be the misty side, so it will take a fair amount of cleaning up.

It's official I am now in love with this FILM camera! Sorry this is exactly like my other selfie in that exact spot. I like this one better because I don't have a twitchy eye! I am so happy I got more film developed, but I haven't even uploaded all of them from the old roll! So be ready for A LOT more. :D I am going to go check out peoples uploads now, hope you had a good day!

My most fvrt City. The most vibrant port city -having a coast line of 48kms-situated on the south-west coast of the Indian peninsula. It is surrounded by the Western Ghats on the east and the Arabian Sea on the west. It was from Kochi that the colonization of India started. It was/is an important spice trading centre. Now it is a significant commercial and industrial hub of India because of the IT boom.
As a final note?
What makes this city beautiful..The people, the sea, Chinese fishing nets, multi culture, Jew street and kaikas biriyani (a famous shop which provides amazing biriyani),Mariane drive, cherai beach..and many more. For me,what makes this city close to my heart is, my days with my friends here..The short train journeys to this city, window shoppings, those second hand book sellers in the street ( A street version of ebay) and those long walks with friends..
Update: I had given a border earlier defining the boundaries( pixel's/datas )in this frame but after traveling with ajay visual panoram"s remarks about the frame above...yes i feel who am i to give boundaries for mother nature? We, the simple human being, always make this mistakes we define (or predefine) things, we try to define almost everything. We try to provide boundaries from ecology to emotions. We limit ourselves with well defined boundaries or self/ social imposed restrictions. Yes the process of elimination. When will we learn to think outside those boxes????
I deleted the boundaries given earlier to the frame..now it is more than pixels it is a beautiful profile of mother nature. I am glad I am part of mother nature...

This view of Seattle is my favorite captured from Alki Beach, but I experienced it all the time growing up and traveling across the Puget Sound. Like most cities Seattle has several iconic viewpoints, this being the best in my opinion, but I understand that some prefer Seattle with Mt. Rainier in the distance. I love how straight on city views compress and distort the size of cities, than when you go driving through them you suddenly realize how much bigger they are. Chicago is a perfect example of this. I love the waves and patterns of the Puget Sound here looking into Elliott Bay, I was lucky to grow up around these waters. I have more Seattle images on the way, eventually an individual set of the Emerald City will probably be coming. Thanks for checking this out. Enjoy!

Success story:
> This shot is the 2nd most interesting photo uploaded on February 12th 2011 - has not been explored though
> It is among the top 10 HDR uploads of all times (last check: May 2011)
> It is an Editor's Pick at "HDR Spotting".
The story of this photo:
This HDR vertorama was taken in the Basilica St. Martin in Weingarten, Germany. This wonderful church was built between 1715 and 1724. The white interior creates a fantastic light, and when the sun is shining, this place lights up. This is a classical example of a scene that requires HDR. In a normal shot, you could never capture how the sun shines on those pillars without the rest of the shot being hopelessly underexposed.
While processing this shot, I discovered that my usual HDR Vertorama technique lead to a strange problem: Usually, I stitch the 32bit HDRs in Photoshop before the tone-mapping. However, I found that Photoshop drastically loses details in the highlights during this process. I tried it with this shot and the spots where the sun shines on the pillars became big ugly white blobs without any chance of recovering details. The information in these spots was just lost. Strange! I did not find any explanation or a way to cure this yet. Photoshop just mysteriously loses this data. If you have an explanation, let me know. To avoid this effect, I have tone-mapped the individual images first and then stitched them in Photoshop.
Take a look at my "HDR Cookbook"! It contains some more information on my techniques.
How it was shot:
> Taken handheld (Read more about the technique!)
> 5x3 autobracketed shots (three exposures each with 0, -2, +2 ev)
> Camera: Nikon D90
> Lens: Sigma 10-20mm F3,5 EX DC HSM
> Details can be found here
How it was stitched and tonemapped:
> Created 5 tone-mapped images directly from the RAW files using Photomatix Pro 4.0 (Detail Enhancer)
> Saved the images as 16bit TIFs
> Stitched the 5 TIFs using Photoshop
> Take a look here for a more detailed description.
How it was post-processed:
> Post-processing was done in Photoshop
> Topaz Adjust on the entire image to get back the colors and the details [details]
> Topaz Denoise (more aggressively on the white walls) [details]
> Topaz Infocus on the entire image for sharpening
> Saturation layer on the white regions (desaturation)
> Saturation layer on the windows (master and blues)
> Levels layer on the upper middle part of the ceiling (masked with an oval selection to brighten this area)
> Saturation layer on the paintings (master and reds)
> Vibrance layer on the paintings (for a more even saturation)
> Color balance layer on the paintings (for cooling the colors a bit)
> Curves layer on the floor (enhancing the reflective look)
> Curves layer on some parts of the ceiling (more contrast)
> Vignette effect using a masked fill layer [details]
> Sharpening using the high-pass filter [details]
> Watermarking

The final morning of our phenom female photog weekend (Myself, Jean Day, & Robin Black).
The weather looked dreary & rainy before sunrise. Looked like we would get skunked. Jean & I opted to take the risk & hike into Point Lobos Sate Reserve.
It stopped raining, but no sunrise color.
We did see a lot of great wave action though.
Can't wait to return here in better weather conditions.
Thanks for stopping by to have a look. =)

This is my best shot from last summer trip to Sicily. I kept it unposted for so long, because I am about to be away from flickr for a couple of weeks... so I wanted you guys to have something that I think it will be nice to look for so long. I am going west, as the beautiful light of this sunset shows...

Taken from the same helipad from my previous shot, this time looking in the opposite direction.
You can clearly see the Burj Al Arab, the Jumeira Palm Island and The Atlantis hotel, and the buildings on the far end are in Dubai Marina, where I live.
I don't like the building on the left, but it was very difficult to compose differently as I was already completely on the right side. I also did not want to crop out the building and then cut off the main 'vein' and also lose all the details on the left far end.
Please check the whole series so far:
I told them to give me a mean look.

Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941) was a Poet, Philosopher, Musician, Writer, Educator, and the first Indian Nobel Laureate for Literature (1913). Tagore has been labelled the "King of Poets" for his beautiful and exquisite poetry. In particular Tagore had a deep love and reverence for nature which he was able to express through lyrical poetry.
Tagore was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1913 for his book Gitanjali. W.B.Yeats in particular was deeply impressed with this work and wrote an introduction. With this honour Tagore became famous in both India and the West. In 1915 Tagore was knighted by King George, however Tagore was to return his knighthood in protest of the Amritsar massacre (1919)
As a writer, Tagore primarily worked in Bengali, but after his success with Gitanjali, he translated many of his other works into English..
