Inside the Sancaklar Mosque in Büyükçekmece, İstanbul.
Note from 2021: It's hot, the south of the country is literally on fire, the north of the country is battling with floods, the pandemic continues to soar and nothing seems to change for the better; this is one of those moments in life, you feel you are losing it all. This place is a lighthouse in fog and storm. Keep your calm, stay on route, weather the times!
Surprisingly to me, these birds seem to be relatively common near where I live now in Michigan. This one was shot against an almost totally white sky, so I dropped it onto a cloud background to add some interest.
I think he was performing Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" but I'm not quite sure it might have been Mozart's "Amadeus". :-)
An icon of Val d'Orcia, and one of the most photographed chapels in Tuscany.

Ice swimming (avantouinti) is especially popular in Finland.
PS. One more photo in the first comment!
I was back out in our meadow this morning. No dew today but I found this lonely Lady on a small, dried weed. It was cool out and no wind. She was quite still for me to set-up and take around 30 shots for focus stacking @ 4x magnification.
Surprising coloring this evening, it was already very gray minutes before sunset, but I decided to wait until after sunset, suddenly the sky was coloring wonderful red, awesome.
Thanks for your visit and comments, I appreciate that very much!

One of the most distinctive building in downtown Guelph is the four story Petrie Building, with its green painted wooden window panels and stamped galvanized iron facade. One of the very few remaining buildings in Canada with this type of facade, its exterior was historically designated in 1990. But the upper floors of the Petrie Building are vacant, and the green paint is there to cover long boarded up windows.

Cutten-Kelly Block on the corner of Wyndham and running down Macdonell and the Regent Hotel on Macdonell. The Cutten-Kelly Block is a four-storey stone building. On the corner, the ground level has a store called "Second Fiddle." There are other stores on the ground floor but they are not distinguishable. The building has a mansard roof with dormers along the top floor. The corner also has a dome extending past the roof. Beside the Block is the Regent Hotel. It is a four-storey grey stone building with a steeply-sloped roof at the front and three dormer windows on the fourth floor. There is a small balcony on the second floor above the central doorway. The ground level has store

What I wanted was to take the cable car and go up the hill, but as the clouds in the background suggest, it was a no go. In the end, it was not a total loss.
Having now seen the American and European Kestrel side by side I have to say the American one is far more photogenic, however in this particular case it was also the most vocal :-).
Here's one of my favorite takes from our trip to the Silver Thread byway this past fall. I am in love with the complex geology on display and couldn't have asked for nicer fall color.
Have a great week all!
This pair of White-tailed Deer were on high alert when they spotted me just before dusk on a cold winter's day at Michigan's Kensington Metropark, near Milford, Michigan. Moments after this image was taken, they bounded away.
Beautiful day...to the sound of U2 - sunrise.

Cham Shan Temple (Ten Thousand Buddas)- The 7 level Asian style building contains precious collections of Buddhist arts and artifacts. Experience the tranquility and spirituality of the temple. They provide free guided tours during summer weekends from June to October. A"World Peace Ten Thousand Buddhas Sarira Stupa Temple" has been constructed on 3 acres of land in Niagara Falls in order to facilitate the expounding of Dharma and the propagation of Buddhism. Spreading the Dharma and benefitting all sentiment beings are the Buddhist Order's vows. Since the appearances of statues and stupas facilitate the generation of the Bodhi-mind, raising temples could benefit sentient beings in countless multitudes. Canada is renowned for its serene and picturesque environment. A Bronze Buddha Statue and a Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara's statue are situated in this property so numerous tourists and devotees can cherish this great chance to make offerings and pay homage to the Buddha
