An Empty BCNA Rake snakes out of one of the 4 loops of Whitefield Railway Station towards Devangothi. The cool surroundings of Whitefield suddenly realized its neighboring city awaits the NADA cyclone and decides to drench us as well suddenly.

If you stand on the ramparts of Stirling Castle to admire the view, it is difficult to take your eyes off the magnificent Ochil Hills to the north, rising above the serpantine coils of the Forth estuary. But if you look round to the south-west, there are more hills - a north-east extension of the Campsie Fells called the Gargunnock Hills, the eastern of which are known as the Touch Hills. Standing on a shelf at the very foot of these hills, is this place - Touch House.
If you view Touch House from the front, the south side, you get to admire what is probably the most distinguished example of Georgian architecture in Scotland. It is thought to be the work of William Adam. So impressive is it that it is easy not to notice the tall slender 15th (or 16th) century tower rising at the east end of the building and you don't get to see at all the typically 17th century range extending round the back. This photo however, is taken from the back, where most of the castellated parts of the building can be seen.
Touch House is two and a half miles south-west of Stirling Castle. While it remains a private house and the operations centre of a 3,750 acre estate, it also operates as a corporate venue these days. The drive leads to the old stables, which have been converted into the estate offices and where I was able to ask if I could take some photos. I think they would have been reluctant to let me wander up and photograph the front of the house, but fortunately most of what I wanted to see was here at the back.
