Touch can be considered a basic sense in that nearly all life forms have a response to being touched. There are times in one's life that they need touch... this is one of them.
Today I experienced so many forms of touch...
... the crispness of my sheets
... the spray of water cascading over my body
... the tickle of my hair falling across my face and shoulders
... the caress of lotion on my skin
... the comforting feel of my Daddy's flannel shirt
... the silkiness of undergarments
... the softness of a blanket
... the warmth of sunlight on my skin
But somehow today, they all have left me feeling empty for there are times one needs a human touch... a hug, a squeeze of a hand, a simple touch... by another human being.
NOTE: The flannel shirt is my Daddy's I took it out of his drawer to wear as a sleep shirt when I was in High School. He always joked about when was he going to get his flannel shirt back. So one year for Christmas I gave him some new flannel shirts as well as this one with a note saying:
Daddy, there were times and trials in my adult life that you could not be there to comfort me and hold me... during those times I would take out your flannel shirt and wrap myself in it. And you were there. Thank you for always being there for me!
With tears in his eyes, he gave me back this flannel shirt to keep with me always.
It is now worn and tattered with a split all the way up the right side, the shoulder is torn, the ends frayed and some buttons missing. My Mom confiscated it recently to sew it up and I took it back because I love it just the way it is... "Loved and worn and soft to the touch"

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt.

One of the most beautiful words is touch; it exquisitely represents our need to prove ourselves that we are not in a dream!

“A Pirate’s Tale” is one of my abandoned LEGO® projects. Intended as a comic, I lost interest a few weeks ago. Since the modular build tavern was almost finished, I decided to take some photos.
Back from my trip! Oh man, I lost at least an inch off the soles of my feet! Everything's so stinkin big it looks like it's only a block away - trust me it's not! I've always considered myself 'a walker'. I have had to re-think my position on that. Another thing I learned was that lenses are heavy. I totally thought people who talked about the weight of this or that lens as a buying factor were complete whiners. Uhmmm...I've had to rethink my position on that as well. I've heard that to become an artist you must suffer - believe me, I suffered in the taking of these shots, so if that's a qualifier I'm there!
Damn! Is that sky insane or what!
Silky soft satin feels so wonderfully smooth. I just cannot resist touching my nightie all the time.
This fallen tree pays tribute to that endless source of solar energy that made it so large and sturdy during its long life in the Ashtabula River Gulf.
Beautiful Ashtabula County, Ohio. October 26, 2019.
Leave each one his touch of folly; it helps to lighten life's burden which, if he could see himself as he is, might be too heavy to carry.
