Seen three of these in Hay Hill and London Street today; one lady was reading it for a full ten minutes. I hope the unicorn gets reunited with her owner. Perhaps you can spread the word too.

Our challenge this month was "missing" to run alongside the BBC news in Pictures weekly theme - i find out Thursday if my picture will be on the BBC Website :)
EDIT: - this wasn't chosen for the BBC - however you never know unless you try :)

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of World War II's V-E Day, vintage WW II airplanes conducted a flyover of Washington, D.C. This is the Missing Man Formation, at the end of the flyover. The planes, from left to right: Curtis P-40 Warhawk, Vought F4U Corsair, Grumman TBM Avenger, and the North American P-51 Mustang.

That big empty space right there is where my catalytic converter used to sit. Somebody was kind enough to remove it for me while I was bowling on Sunday night. Yup, just rolled under and cut it out. So I guess I should thank them for cutting down on my gas bill and making my car more full efficient. I could probably get faster track times too. Someone was looking out for me.
I started it up and it sounded like I had a giant hole in my muffler. Little did I know, exhaust wasn't even making it to the muffler. Now my truck sounds like Gravedigger is rolling down the street. Really. I am always amazed at how loud engines are without the muffler. It sounds like the motor is sitting in the passenger seat, buckled up next to me.
I've heard that this kind of theft is sort of the new fad. These converters can either be sold as is or melted down for the metals housed in the cat. Google tells me that mine had good amounts of platinum, other manufacturers even use gold to increase oxidation.
The person(s) who hit me, appear to know exactly what they were doing. Two clean cuts on either side of the flanges and that's it. I drive a truck and it sits higher up than cars. Roll in, cut cut, roll out. That's it. Probably made a couple hundred bucks in seconds, not a bad gig.
If you know someone who is doing this, please punch them in the throat for me.
I was at the beach when I discovered this slipper by the stones...I stopped and wonder...how many people are still missing from 2004 Tsunami? I went online and research...my heart sank. ..

D. pedunculatus normally has several anemones which it cultivates and even transfers when it moves to a new shell. This individual only has one, to the left and just out of focus - poor diddums! Perhaps there's a second one tucked under his shell?

I do miss her a great deal. We always went to Kyoto or some other places together, never missing nice coffee and yummy things, having a lot of chat and laughter, walking a lot, taking a lot of pictures.
For the time beigng I can't travel with her, but I'm waiting for her to come over the grief, and the day we can travel together again!

I didn't even realize that he was missing some until I got it on the computer.
20. I have a filter in the Voltage Regulator circuit. Note the discoloration due to arching on the pole that the arrow is pointing to. This may have been the cause of all the problems. I will test everything before installing the new regulator. The lesson here is when you have an electrical problem check all of the connections.

Re-imagining of Missing the Sea
Entered into the Imagez Camera Club competition entitled "Summer 2007" on 30th October 2007. This was a digital competition for 1024x768 jpeg images.
This evening we took my husband to Manchester Airport. He has a new job in Abu Dhabi. We won't be seeing him till October. Yotsuba wasn't the only one who cried. :(

I remember the headlines in the news when this girl went missing. My oldest son had just turned 14, so this girl was close in age. I felt sadness for the parents.
When I was driving back from Fort Davis, TX this past weekend, I stopped at a convenience store in Colorado City, TX...the town where Hailey lived. I had already seen the large "MISSING" billboard signs along I-20 (see photo below). As I came out of the restroom, this posted handwritten sign greeted me. It caught my eye and tugged at my heart because it was handwritten and the the phrase "If you see my baby girl..." struck me with the reality of it all. I am so use to seeing copies of typed up signs for missing children on the doors of convience stores across Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas (rarely see them in Missouri). But this one was different...by the looks of it, this was handwritten by her parent.
