Common guillemots (Uria aalge) in their summer plumage, from Easter break on the island I'm from one year ago.

This year have been abnormal- I haven't seen them at all yet. Normally I see them both at sea in our neighbourhood and on Jæren during winter and spring (but I know others have found some there lately).

None came ashore after a storm either, like they use to- although that is not a nice way to see them. I hope that they don't struggle too much. The northern gannets (havsule in Norwegian) have been very few as well.

The common guillemot to the right here, is a bridled form of guillemot - with a white eye ring and a thin white line behind the eye.

On other photos, they cuddled and scratched each other for some time. Adorable!

The word "missing" came to mind as I considered posting this photo of me and Cristy......for several reasons.

First, our friend Katie was with us but she is missing from this edited photo. Sorry. She was not absent, lost, gone nor misplaced - just missing.

Second, I've been missing both friends since we gathered last year. Sad. In this case, I've felt a yearning, perhaps craving, to see them again.

Fortunately, any feelings of melancholy are overcome by the thought we'll be together again very soon.

Over the past two years, the importance of friends has an amplified presence in my life priorities.

My boy Marley went missing on 4/11/17 and I am heartbroken!!!

I've had him for a little over 8 years and he has never wondered off. He has always stayed within eyeshot of my house!!! I've looked everywhere surrounding my house with no signs of him. With the drug problem that's running so rapid in Southern Ohio I'm afraid that someone may have picked him up to sale for drug money or there is a big Trade Days Flea Market taking place this weekend in the Scioto County just south of me. I'm certainly missing her too much...

Other than a quick photo session at the river dam 10 days ago, this hike was my last "real" time on the river, and that was 17 days ago. My skin is starting to crawl and I have the shakes. I don't have to work on Friday, so hopefully the weather will be nice and I'll get out here then..........assuming I'm all done Christmas shopping......

Christmas in Arizona

All units, this is 4-1. We have found a member of the missing team but he is KIA. Earthquake has done significant damage to this sector. We need support.

Our last evening at Grant's. We had some low laying clouds moving rather quickly but little breeze on the ground and over the surface of the lake. Which was a good thing because the docks float here and this was a long exposure. As it was there was some slight movemment in the dock while shooting this. My first shot was without the chairs on the dock but I thought it wasn't all that interesting so I tragged out a set of chairs. Enjoy!

After over an hour of digging us out of the snow (I could not drive anywhere - got stuck just off my driveway, had to remove most of the soft snow to be able to drive back onto my own driveway..) decided that looking at green things at Devonian Gardens is the thing I want to be doing. A bit tired with the white stuff.. I'll be feeling my muscles for a few days...

Was going through some photos last night and this one reminded me of how nice the spring is. I decided after a freezing (but great) trip to Europe this winter I'm ready for some springtime :)
