Lakeland Photography Holidays
by Sue Langford
I've just been on a four night holiday with John and Gail Gravett in Braithwaite near Keswick. I've learnt a lot and had fun doing so (and eaten extremely well too!)
On Sunday we went out to Surprise View (overlooking the southern tip of Derwent Water) and then onto Watendlath.
On Monday, three of us headed out to Buttermere with the intention of then stopping at Crummock Water and Loweswater on our way back to the house, but by the time we'd done at Buttermere and walked back to the car it was not far off 3pm!
On Tuesday, a few of us went out before light to Castlerigg Stone Circle to get some photos of the sun coming up behind Hellvellyn (which had quite a dusting of snow and looked very handsome) I wasn't very happy with the pictures I got there but it was wonderful just to experience the views (even if I didn't successfully get them to take away with me!) and then - after breakfast and some hot porridge it was back out again to Blea Tarn and Little Langdale Valley.
At the end of each day we'd sort through our photies and select about 10 each to go through with John after dinner.
