Buttermere
There's a cute little tree just to the right of this beautifully gnarled and twisted one, but Neil and Andy had taken prime tripod locations and started bashing off multiple exposures with great panache so I decided to move a little further along (as I hadn't even learnt how to do three bracketed shots at this point and was a little intimidated by their artillery!)
After dinner, our tutor John demonstrated how to lighten the foreground of the tree trunk without losing the wonderful colours on the fell (and its reflection) but I can't remember how it was done, so you'll just have to imagine how this immense trunk twisted gracefully upwards and around.
