Halifax is the capital of the province of Nova Scotia, Canada.

 

The name Nova Scotia is Latin for "New Scotland" the Nova Scotia flag is an inverted Scottish flag with the Nova Scotia coat of arms in the center.

 

Halifax, Nova Scotia was founded by British government on June 21st 1749. Nova Scotia joined New Brunswick and The Province of Canada (Canada West Ontario / Canada East Quebec) in the creation of a new country called of Canada on July 1, 1867.

 

The date of July 1st is now celebrated as holiday known as Canada Day, which is frequently referred to as "Canada's birthday".

 

There are now 10 provinces Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Manitoba, British Columbia, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Newfoundland and Labrador
