Although Nova Scotia has many beautiful landscapes, all differing, from snow white sandy beaches, to cliffs that remind one of Scotland, blood red clay along the shores of the Minas Basin, it is the rugged coasts, filled with granite boulders tossed across the landscape and the rough tundra vegetation hugging the earth, that draws me back to the shores of Peggy’s Cove.

The song “Farewell to Nova Scotia”, sung by many Canadians, has been heard lately in all too many tributes and memorials to those who lost their lives in a senseless tragedy.

"Farewell to Nova Scotia" is a popular folk song from Nova Scotia that is an adaptation of the 1791 Scottish folk song "The Soldier's Adieu", printed in 1803 in a Glasgow newspaper and attributed to Robert Tannahill.

Visited Nova Scotia quite a few years ago. The UNESCO World Heritage Town of Lunenburg, with its narrow streets and unique architecture, left beautiful memories. It was one of our favorite stops..
