While this tour of Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, and Czech Republic looks like a dream on Instagram, the reality is that the European migrant crisis is still underway and border security is very much heightened. I am traveling with a group of tourists from the U.S., Canada, Poland, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, and United Arab Emirates, and early this afternoon we crossed the border of Austria into the Czech Republic. This is the last border crossing of our trip, and the first one in which passports have been checked extensively by border police.
