Living up to its name this Brutti ma Buoni is “ugly but good”. But it is the closest I have come to getting these Italian hazelnut meringue cookies right. (And I’m sure to devour them anyway.) I’ve been chasing the proper name and recipe for these cookies for a couple of years! I don’t think they are even close to perfect yet - double cook? Oven temp? (perhaps time to beg @eriscooking for some guidance) And they doo look suspiciously similar to the “bowel buddies” my mother in law makes.
