Happy Days Diners

Happy Days Diner on Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights closed in December 2022 after three decades in business due to failing to pay its rent during the pandemic. In 2000, the diner’s rent was $7,750 a month and by 2020 it was $21,905. This cozy diner was popular as it had been open 24/7 and served breakfast, 🍳 lunch 🍔and dinner items at relatively affordable prices all day. The good news is that the space will be reopening soon as Montague Diner, with a new modern yet timeless interior design and a new menu serving classic diner staples including pancakes during breakfast but shifting to more elevated options at dinner such as steak frites. The new owners include producer Gabriel Nussbaum (who first spotted the for lease sign in the space while on a walk) and various partners including directors Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost and Halley Chambers and Kip Green, the duo who runs Margot in Fort Greene. We will be interested in seeing what the space looks like and how good and costly the food they serve will be.
