The Show Must Go On... But It Ends In February After Completing 35 Years On Broadway - IMRAN™
"The Phantom of the Opera” the longest-running show in Broadway history, is set to close in February, 2023. It will complete 35 YEARS in January before it ends.
Interestingly, it came out literally the week after my departure from New York after my first ever visit to the USA in late 1987. It was on my list of things to do since I returned a year later and started my American life, in my new hometown of New York City.
Honestly, I am NOT a fan of musicals in general. But Phantom was THE only one I wanted to watch and LOVED seeing in my "forever hometown" Manhattan. The incredible music, lyrics, and the voice of Sarah Brightman in the title song on the original set of CDs still take my breath away.
