There are two types of windmills in Fuerteventura.
The larger, two storey type, which are the original windmills known as El Molino or Los Molinos. These are known as male windmills, large, cumbersome, hard working and costly to maintain.
The others are smaller, single storey buildings that were introduced much later, from mid 1800’s. These take on the feminine form of the name, and are known locally as La Molina or Las Molinas. These ladies are neater, easier to operate, much less work as they are built on a single floor and are far cheaper to maintain. Each windmill has a fantastic character and when you research them, a personal history of their own.

This beautiful black woman sang at the NYC Pride BLM event/protest-march. She is famous from the hit tv show "The Voice." I can't seem to find her name. Anybody know? There's a short video I took of her singing in my photostream if you want to listen to her beautiful powerful voice.

I saw this guy when I jumped off the tram, tall burly photographer chatting to a couple of marshals. Got nearly up to the library and he appeared out of nowhere.... right in my face snapping off shots. I lifted my camera quick as I could and clicked the shutter every time he did.... eventually he walked away. In street photography I only go to parades and marches where the vibe is upbeat and happy and I'm super careful. Never had confrontation.... took a minute to settle down and get on with it.

Greetings from Istanbul.
This was the first image in my mind when I spoke to Ayda a short while ago about shooting together. Doesn't she just look gorgeous as this character!
Ayda is a singer/songwriter born in Sweden, raised for a while in England, and currently living in Istanbul, Turkey. She is a fantastic singer and rose to fame during the Turkish version of the competition, The Voice (O Ses Turkiye) in which she came 2nd.
