NEW DIMENSIONS It has been so much fun to paint the first non-dimension seascape that I decided to work on a little series . I should admit that I don’t care much about theory usually but this is really intriguing: The Möbius strip has the mathematical property of being non-orientable and is also a ruled surface. A strip model can easily be created by taking a paper strip and giving it a half-twist, and then merging the ends of the strip together to form a single strip. It is of great interest in topology, being a one-sided surface (a line can be drawn along the strip of paper that will cover both sides, returning to the starting-point to meet itself). It was co-discovered independently by the German mathematicians A. F. Möbius and J. B.
