Giving a boost to the solar power revolution,we inaugurated the #Largest single location #SolarPowerPlant at village Mirpur Kalan of Mansa. The plant has a capacity of 31.5 MW. It is built by Hindustan Power with facilitation from #Punjab govt agencies PEDA & PSPCL. I congratulate Punjab Energy Development Agency - PEDA for this shining achievement. Punjab has taken major strides in solar power generation. Mansa, especially has become the solar power hub and will lead the way for more developments in this sphere. 7 lakh households in Punjab have been provided with the solar lights & 1500 villages are dependent solely on solar power. SAD-BJP government has installed solar lights in 1000 villages at a cost of Rs. 100 crore and Punjab has occupied no.2 position in the country in net metering. Soon a 5 MW solar power project will also be established on a canal in the state.
