Edge of Vision
Day 291 of 365
"Edge of Vision"
Today's portrait is hopefully eye-catching.................nothing? I couldn't come up with a better title or opening. Anyway, as with yesterday's glass ball image, today's image was shot with my macro lens and my new macro extension tube. As I mentioned yesterday, holding focus is extremely difficult, as even the most steady human is not able to remain completely still during the manually-focused exposure. This was certainly the most crisp image from the bunch. The depth of field is so shallow that it is even difficult to find one's subject through the lens, as everything is blurry until you lean in, and suddenly something is in focus. Our young subject is directly in front of a softbox, and is positioned at the very near edge of the diffusion panel. She is probably about four inches from it. I wanted soft light, and quick drop-off. In some of the other images one can see the fine braids in the iris. I will post some of the other images in the future. Thanks for having a look!!
