Since the 1990s, American-style Halloween customs have spread throughout continental Europe. There are clear regional differences. Thus, especially in German-speaking countries, native customs such as the beet spirit or dream light mixed with Halloween.

This curious Spotted Towhee was looking at me and probably wondering why I was taking his photo. We seem to have a lot of these birds around our neighbourhood this year.

This Kookaburra sat and posed patiently as I fumbled around with a manual lens. And yes, he got rewarded for his time as is only fair. Pentax-A 35-105mm

The pool of sunlight here made an already sinister display in a Camden shop look all the more sinister.

Lollipop sticks are usually a single use item that is discarded (Hopefully into a waste bin.) once the lolly has been finished.

These coloured lollipop sticks are primarily used for crafting, however I have used them for photography a few times, even this time I have kept the half sticks for future use.

This 1 inch lensball is showing an inversed image of lollipop sticks stuck to an old CD. The CD is 1.5 inches behind the lensball, the result reminds me of an eyeball.

Quite often on our cliff walks there are rocks that act as landmarks and that we give names to. We might say, lets walk as far as the "sheep stone", which is a big rock that looks like a sheep when viewed from a certain angle, or the "crow stone" because there is nearly always a crow sitting on top of it. This one, we call "eyeballs" for obvious reasons, as there have been two holed drilled into it at some time. No idea why!
