"Odd One Out"
Today's portrait has been a long time in the works. However, having two small children makes it difficult to find all the parts. When I could not find the smallest penguin.....I used the Russian doll baby instead. It was at that point that the story was developed. Our lighting is relatively simple. There is a strip bank at camera-left, and can be seen in our heroes' heads.....the highlight resembles the hairline of a balding man. I used a piece of foamcore at camera-right to bounce the strip's light back on to the unlit side of our sphenisciformes. Lastly, there is a second strobe lighting the white seamless paper in the background. Not only does it light the paper, but it also supplies the edge light on the camera-right side of our little friends. The only work done in post was to lower the father's eyes. Perhaps you did not even notice. Thanks for taking a bird's eye view!!
