"Bee Catchers.....fer Real!"

 

Today's portrait is actually a portrait!! We had bees in our compost drum, and Nicole and Sean of Bee Catchers came to our rescue! I selected their company because they don't kill the bees. After removing the bees (and letting me keep the honeycomb), we set up for the portrait. Their key light is a beauty dish at camera-left. It has a sock on it, which creates a less punchy look. I originally had a grid on it, but it confined the light way too much. There is a strip back to Nicole's right, and it provides that edge light along her side and cheek. My intention for the rim light was to light the smoking thing which I assumed they might bring. They did. The dreaded sunlight kept making an appearance, but I did what I could to avoid it. With that said, I love that it crept on to the grass. Nice touch, Sun! Who you gonna call? Bee Catchers!! Thanks for buzzing by!!
