Rooster portrait I took a while ago, inspired by the work of Tim Flach

This is my "new neighbour", think he lives above me and he comes almost every day for a visit outside my window (stealing the birds food). Amazing to see this wee guy up close and this is taken with my vintage macro manual focus lens(!) The reason for that is that's the lens that I had on the camera, thinking I won't have time to change. Amazed how long he sat still and I managed to find focus without him moving too much! I even had time to change lens before he disappeared.

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. In the background bokeh, a portrait I took for the Facebook advertising campaign on the electronic billboard - it's so surreal seeing them in my Glasgow stomping grounds. Enjoy!

The one that you are looking for, you're not gonna find her here.

So similar to a picture I did a few days ago. I am so uninspired.

Tumblr.

We found this inquisitive stray puppy in a small village in central Nepal, the ticks on his eyes didn't seem to stop him from wanting to play!

This week, we finally put up a sunsail that I had bought to use as a cat hammock! It is triangular; we tied it between 3 trees. I can see that it will sag rapidly so we are going to have to tighten it up! Some of the cats were interested, and some- just suspicious or ignored it! ALL that work! But Tinker, Al, and Mac did find it pretty cool!

I can see that all our big climb-on toys we have in the yard for the cats really need scrubbing! Spring work in the yard is never done.

Street portraiture from the backstreets of Old Havana, Cuba.

This young capricorn in the Julian alp mountains of Slovenia is obviously surprised looking into the lens of a bridge camera, but it's not scared.

Family is everything! I was over the moon to see them despite a thunderstorm looming. The never-ending rain has probably helped with the successful hatch causing way less chances of human intrusion.

Baby Common Loons are precocial, which means they are more mature and mobile than other new hatchlings. Loon chicks are able to swim and dive right after hatching. After their first day or two of life, the loon family moves to a “nursery” area to raise their young and they do not return to the nest. The chicks are fed small food items including minnows and insects caught by their parents for the first few weeks of life. Since I knew where their nursery was from previous years I was able to capture a few shots. It was rather difficult because the parents are understandably in protection mode keeping the chicks between them. Very good parents from what I can see. The male was making sounds I never heard before, It sounded like someone laughing. I didn't stay long not wanting to tire the chicks out, hopefully, next time I'll catch them riding on their parents' backs.

We're about halfway through our 'staycation', and I'm getting the feeling that Buba sometimes wonders if she'll ever get to spend some time alone again... :)

I'm standing

on the edge of a precipice and

the ground under my feet

is burning

your steps

and my cheeks

are burning

and then you touch

my arms

are burning

and you kiss again

my lips

are burning until red-hot

after that you touch

differently

and I'm burning

wholly

some day

I know

I won't rise from the ashes
