Every evening gather several thousand visitors in Oia, to enjoy the famous Santorini sunset. However, the best atmosphere comes when most visitors have left the place and the blue hour begins.

Anything better than a little pond in a park in the middle of the Alps to enjoy a warm sunset?
We had some time to kill so we stopped by this great little park that resides in Colorado Springs. It had been raining on and off for the better part of the day and after resolving ourself to a night in the car so we spent the rest of the day exploring. As well as an amazing geological spectacle, it has a fascinating history that spans back eons.
The human history of the Garden of the Gods commences many centuries before our present time. Stone hearths and fire rings found in the Garden dating over 3000 years ago indicate the presence of early inhabitants, According to Ute traditions, their people have always lived in this area, and were known to winter in the Garden of the Gods.
It's no wonder they were drawn to this magical place.

This was one of the shots I was looking for. During a summer night while I was looking for a nice spot to frame the Milky Way, a huge thunderstorm over the plains ruined the purpose. So, what to do, just expose long, wait and hope, and the night, wasn't ruined at all.
I finally managed to sneak down the Kukui Trail and found some nice clouds here at Waimea Canyon. Then the sun broke through clouds and cast some cool and interesting light over the landscape. After reviewing this photo, I wished I had taken out the 70-200 to pick the landscape apart piece by piece, but alas, Live and learn. :)

The Arno is a river in the Tuscany region of Italy. It is the most important river of central Italy after the Tiber.
Still in Sesto from an elevated point of view - not far from the church pictured yesterday. The mountains provided an interesting backdrop against which the farms would stand out.

February did not show up with good weather but the last weekend pleased with beautiful sunshine. We used Saturday for an extended hiking trip on the Peak trail of the Wiehengebirge in the Rödinghausen area. The watch-tower and the Bismarck monument were some of the landmarks we passed during the trip.
I Always wanted to go to Toledo to capture this amazing city full of history and with is three sides bathed by the Tagus river.
This is really an amazing old city with a mix of ancient Christian, Muslim and Jewish culture and architecture.
The wide-angle was quite tricky to capture from this place, even in the sunset due to the amount of light coming from the left in order to get the right balance.
About the size of your fist, this tiny Elf Owl is the smallest owl in the desert southwest. It's on display live in an outdoor naturalized setting at the Sonoran Desert Museum, Tucson, Arizona, USA.
Somewhat uncommon and local.
Every once in a while the photo gods throw me a freebie. :)
