Inner Superman

Day 13 of an Unknown Number

"Inner Superman"

The subject of today's portrait is a computer genius. My computer was doing some unkind things, and this man came to the rescue. Before leaving, he agreed to pose for a portrait. I gave him very little direction, but he clearly found his inner Superman. While he was not sporting it today, he's been known to wear a Superman shirt under his civilian clothes. The lighting seemed befitting a super hero. The rim light was supplied by a strip bank at camera-right. The hand-painted canvas background was lit by a snooted speedlight, and our on-camera fill was supplied by a ring flash. While I typically abhor a rim light lighting the edge of a subject's nose, I actually planned for it in this case. The shape of his proboscis does something nice with the light. We knew we would be going black and white, as the background canvas was too similar in tone to his skin. If you have a problem, and no one else can help, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire......The B Team!! Thanks for stopping by!!
