October 28 - They're Back!! I've had a dry spell of Monarchs, but this is the first of three chrysalis to open.

April 1 - Well, the Monarchs have returned. When it comes to photographing wildlife I've learned that patience is key.
April 20 - Well it took over two weeks, but the chrysalis finally opened. By the time I got home I only had time for a few shots before the butterfly flew away...

February 2 - It's odd to have Monarch caterpillars in winter, but this year they're plentiful. I love to watch the transformation from caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly. I'm thankful for the reminder that all things are made new thru Christ...

March 25 - I'm thankful butterfly season has begun...
June 5 - "For the beauty of the earth"...I am incredibly thankful.
June 3 - So thankful to find a Queen Butterfly today. I don't think I've seen one around here before.
June 15 - After the Monarch caterpillars have decimated my milkweed and take off to find a place to change into a chrysalis, the hunt is on for me to find where they've connected. I always feel thankful when I spot them so I can watch the transformation.
June 20 - I was thankful to find a garden brimming with Swallowtail Butterflies today...they're my favorite!
