Michigan Bulb: The best thing about a plant with multi-season interest is that you don't have to plan so much on how to keep that space beautiful. This little bluestem brings that sort of easy, seamless season transitions to your landscape. In summer, the blades have blue tones with a deeper purple color around the base. It's a nice pop of dramatic color in the perennial border. In late summer, it's joined by pretty little tan seed heads. Once fall rolls around, the foliage turns to warmer red, orange and purple. Then the grass dries to a wheat-gold hue in winter, which keeps the garden bright in an otherwise sleepy season. The blades are also thicker than the average Little Bluestem's, and this substance helps them stay strictly upright—fabulous for vertical interest. It is a carefree native selection, naturally water wise so it's a good fix for soil that dries out quickly. Easy, stunning and continually transforming through a three-season show... this variety deserves a Standing Ovation! PP25202
