Rosa 'OLIVIA ROSE AUSTIN' 3/2022 DAR G1-
Rosa 'OLIVIA ROSE AUSTIN' 3/2022 DAR G1- (Austin, 2014) English Leander Hybrid Shrub Rose DAR, Mature plant size: 4.5x3.5ft., Pink flowers, 90 petals, USDA Hardiness Zone 4-10, Michigan Bloom Week ISO WW23, In Garden Bed G1 for 35 MONTHS (David). Planted in 2019.
DAR: Rosa 'Ausmixture' [OLIVIA ROSE AUSTIN]. This is a rather special rose; in fact, it is possibly the best rose that we have introduced to date. Its flowers are a lovely soft shade of pink and are beautiful at all stages. They commence as prettily cupped buds, gradually opening to shallowly cupped, Old Rose style rosettes. Each bloom is about three and a half inches across. It repeat flowers well and has a strong, pleasing fragrance with distinct fruity tints. It is also one of the most disease-resistant of all the roses we know.
2020 notes: Second round of blooms in September. This is a grafted rose and it is a more vigorous plant compared to the own root DA roses. I am impressed so far. Nice sized shrub for being planted last year. I have not checked out its fragrance yet. It is located on the south side of the greenhouse, so it gets winter protection from the cold north winter winds. DA roses rates this rose down to zone 4. I have several roses in this wrea. They seem to like it here.
