These retired numbers are 3 of the 6 retired numbers that hang in the rafters of Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Oh. Quicken Loans Arena is home to the Cleveland Cavs of the NBA.

 

Bingo Smith wore #7 for the Cleveland Cavs from 1970-1979. While a Cav, he would average close to 15 ppg, 2 apg, and 4 rpg. He would be a part of 3 NBA tournament teams with the Cavs and lead them to the first, and 1 of only 3 division titles, in 1976.

 

Austin Carr wore #34 for the Cavs from 1971-1980. He was selected #1 overall in the NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavs in 1971. He is the all time leading score for Notre Dame NCAA basketball team. He would average just over 15 ppg for the Cavs and help them win the 1976 division title, the 1st in the Cavs franchise. Today he serves as the color commentator for the Cavs on television.

 

Nate Thurmond wore #42 for the Cleveland Cavs but only played 2 seasons there, 1976-1977. He would help the Cavs win their first division title in 1976 and help lead them to the Conference Finals losing to Boston Celtics. In 1985, Thurmond was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.
