Variation 6 of 13 -- Feet Floating Free
Same ingredients as in rest of set (see #1 and #3 in particular). Rug made in Iran, mirror of unknown origin, feet made and grown in Australia.
Because I had always planned a crossed ankle pose, and because one foot was partly out of frame, this shot was excluded from my first selection from the session's batch. On closer review, I came to feel this version had compensating virtues...
The lighting around the arch of the virtual right foot is a serendipitous touch of chiaroscuro magic beyond the photographer’s general preconceptions. Yet the real left foot is shaded in sfumato. Another gift of window illumination. (It also makes me think of trompe l’œil dome ceilings, which often show foreshortened anatomy, seen from below, and against blue skies…)
