Both of restorative options have their own sets of pros and cons which you can look at to find out the right option for your particular case. Things to know about dentures

Dentures have been used as the only option to replace missing teeth for many decades. Dentists make dentures to work with your oral cavity by molding them to fit in your mouth. Each day, you get the dentures out of your mouth before going to bed and soak them for the entire night for proper cleaning. And then you put the dentures back in your mouth after waking. Although you may have spent huge amount of money on the preparation of #dentures for you, it is difficult to make these faux teeth resembling the nature teeth by 100%.

Many people may like the ease of getting the dentures out in the night and putting them back in the mouth in the morning, but one should keep in mind that the jawbone can deteriorate without the presence of dental support.

You need good health of your jawbone in order receive #implants. And if you do not have healthy jawbone, you can have dentures. But it is also the fact that even best of an adhesive cannot hold dentures tightly in order to restore your bite force completely.

When it comes to choosing the dentures, there are many options to choose from. Quality is, of course, one major factor to be taken into consideration. You can discuss options with your dentist in this regard.

A typically denture lasts up to 5 years before you need a replacement.

Things to know about dental implants

An implant is basically a #titanium post which is further covered by a crown or an over-denture. This post is surgically inserted in your jawbone and then it is left to get fused with it. When the process of jawbone’s fusion with titanium post is complete, you are then ready to receive the crown or a denture to get the long-lost smile and bite force back. Implants are typically beneficial in case you need your entire set of missing teeth back. In this case, the attached over-denture wouldn’t ever slip and you will feel the entire tooth structure to be as stronger as your real teeth.

However, you may not be eligible to get dental implant if you have deteriorated health of jawbone due to smoking, diabetes, or any other health condition. In that case, you will have to rely on dentures.

Furthermore, the dental implants are not cheaper as dentures. The cost of dental implant may be many times that of dentures. However, it is the long lasting solution is it is worth the price you pay.
