On Union Pacific rails, Procedure XH is issued for crossings "not working properly", which includes damaged gates. Here, Sunset Limited #1 comes across that very situation at Braeswood Blvd on the west side of Houston. After slowing to restricted speed until occupying the crossing, the train gets back up to track speed on its way to San Antonio.
