The California Nebula (NGC1499), 03-17-2020

The California Nebula is an emission nebula found in the Perseus Constellation. It is actually quite large, two or three times larger than the moon, but is very faint.

Another new target for me. Technically this photo came out pretty good. It is just not that interesting to look at for me. If I had framed it on the diagonal, I may have like it better. I did have trouble getting a good image at first, but then I tried a trial version of a different processing program that did a great job bringing out the detail. I guess I’ll be plopping down more money on this hobby yet again.
