Our favorite part of the holidays is seeing happy reactions to our custom #maps! Commissioned by our longtime supporter Matt as a holiday gift for for our friend Queer Chocolatier, this “Queers of #Indiana” map print displays the best existing locational proxy data for #LGBTQ population in an aesthetic featuring hues from the rainbow pride flag. Making a multi-hue #map showing quantitative data skirts a few cartographic conventions, but... #cartography’s rules can be broken or even utterly shattered if a design “works” to tell the story, and I think we managed that here.
