Hi, my name's Johnny P. I consider FLICKR my FUN/BUSINESS/WHATEVER space. I live in the Beckerville Section of Manchester, between Lakehurst & Whiting. Your lucky # is: 317. Go there at night, when it's not raining, and see the solar lights on the power poles. That's me.

I'm going to HOPEFULLY be in the crab trap business soon. You see my drawings of what it'll look like. Interested in HIT & RUN dating, and potential business partners/investors...!

THE ORIGINAL CONE TRAP... Was born sometime before I was 10. Under a crabbing dock on Reese Ave in Lavallette, NJ. I was underwater, and diving for crabs. The water was always MURKY. I thought, "How can I trap crabs as if I was underwater and could SEE them? A trap that could discern between a "shortie" and a "Keeper", without me being there. I thought only a CONE could do that. My favorite trap was a "basket" trap. This is a 2 ring device that folds FLAT, then becomes a "fruit" basket. It folds deep, and is a great trap. But, it too, has faults. Fault #1 is it DOESN'T have an exit hole for UNDERSIZED CRABS. Fault #2 is that if a crab is on the EDGE, he can teter off to the "living" side, and escape. "Star" traps, with moving doors, are prone to fail, since the doors do not go DOWN when they hit the "floor", and/or DON'T RETRACT when they're pulled up. I've OFTEN SEEN THE BIG ONE scramble out as he hit the surface. Same thing with a basic, box trap. I THOUGHT- WHAT ABOUT A CONE? The crab(s) feed on the bait, which is 1/4 or more in the cone. Once you pull the trap, the force of water forces ALL CRABS to the small end, which is LARGE ENOUGH to allow for the escape of FREE, UNDERSIZED CRABS! It would automatically SORT OUT the crabs by size w/o me being there. PERFECT! Of course, there'll be crabs mating, and the LARGE CRAB may beat the shorter crab to the exit and block it. But, in that case, all you have to do is dip it in the water, and the smaller crab will find its way out , if not attached. This all happened in 44/100ths of 1 second. And, it made sense. There are NO MOVING DOORS TO FAIL- if the crab's IN THERE, he's caught! GUARANTEED! From there, the trap evolved into being CONVERTED into a COMMERCIAL APPLICATION, and can also be ATTACHED to a standard,

commercial "Hotel" trap.

HERE IS WHERE YOU CAN BECOME A FAN...

Write WHAT YOU WANT. I think the trap is GOOD, and SHOULD SELL AT LEAST 3 MILLION BASIC UNITS. This is a new product, so you're looking into the POSSIBLE FUTURE. I offer NO GUARANTEES, but I feel that since I PERSONALLY WANT ONE, there should be 3 million more of me...Therein lies our gamble...
