Holy Cow!! It's been a long time...SO much has happened. Got a job I could really love, driving a car I do love, and my girl Karat is still bouncing around as though she is a puppy yet, God willing, she will be turning 10 years old next month. Today is the 96th anniversary of my Dad's birth - he has been gone 20 years now - still miss him

Well the job was a nothing job and they did not even have the balls to say to my face that we had made a mistake - I at least was willing to give it a couple more days, but I knew after one that it was not for me...the kicker was I had to drive an extra 90 miles to get my timesheet signed due to their discourtesy.
So in the meantime, have been searching again, have had a few nibbles, but nothing on the permanent basis. Worked locally 1-2 days a week for a contractor, but that has dried up cuz he now has no projects on his docket,
Also was going to work doing tax returns for Liberty Tax Services, but it is a new office in an upscale area so they have not had many customers - did a couple of returns and will be doing a couple more this week, but then Thursday is TAX DAY so that will end too.
There are times when I think maybe I am not supposed to be here anymore...

I start a new full time permanent (as that can be) job tomorrow and I am very excited. I will miss spending time with the "kids", but after a bit, I believe I will move closer to work and then be able to see them at lunchtime, too. The weekends will very special.
Feb to Now, unemployed and self-absorbed, trying very hard not to feel sorry for myself. Think I did an OK job of that though there were moments. Especially when thinking about a friend who passed away at the end of March from ovarian cancer. I miss you, Sharon.

It's been a while, but I am back to flickring (at least I hope so). Since I last posted here, I have added a new family member - Koa, who is now 9 months old and just a total love. Karat is still #1 in my heart, but Koa is a close #3, more like a #1.5.
We are off today to a retriever retreat being held in Douglasville GA. I hope to have lots of photos to share when I return on Sunday. Both Karat and Koa will be learning new stuff. Koa really loves this bird stuff and a few weeks ago got to retriever his very first chukkar. He did GREAT!!

Started a new job in my town today so commuting is much less time consuming. Karat is happy cuz I can come home for lunch and she gets a mid day break, though I do believe she would rather have me work out of the house - one day maybe...
I am so preparing to start work on the 2009 Calendar for the Flatcoats and Friends group...

12.20.07 Updated Profile:
Back in Georgia since June 2006, Karat and I are loving out life in a little 75 year old farmhouse. There is a 3 acres backyard bordered by a State Park and a wonderful neighbor who is my landlord and on top of that, a flatcoat family too. And needless to say, the spirit of my wonderful boy, Keeper, with me forever no matter where I am, is here too.. Lulu went to live with a much noisy, more chaotic family than ours - she has children to play with again and she is very happy.
Karat is growing into a beautiful young dog and is one of the smartest puppies I have ever lived with. On her first attempt, she qualified for her Working Certificate (WC), a designation bestowed by the FCRSA (Flat Coated Retriever Society of America), when there were only 4 passes of 22 dogs to run. She is a gift from her breeder, Andrea and I could not be more thrilled. Karat's name came from her shiny golden spirit and her nickname is Gullie Girl (gull is Norwegian for gold). I am having so much fun with my girl.
We are loving life here in Georgia.
