I bought this lens because of the strange oval bokeh it can produce. I seldom managed to get it, though. This is one of the few examples I shot where I did get the oval looking bokeh.

One of Idaho's most obscure railroad operations is the Dry Valley Railroad. The short line connected to UP's Dry Valley Branch in Maybe Canyon, dropping down a 1.5% grade to Mountain Fuels.
Built in 1984 by Conda Partnerships, the route was initially a six-mile extension of UP's Dry Valley Branch from Maybe Canyon to Champ, with a three mile spur to reach Mountain Fuels phosphate loader. Doug is one of few photographers to catch the operation on film with a pair of leased Alaska Railroad FP7A locomotives.
ARR 1506 and 1508 have gathered the first cut of mine empties as they depart Maybe Canyon. The open top hoppers will load at the Mountain Fuels conveyor nine mies down the branch.

Well truth be told, I don't have any fictitious figures lying around the house. I looked just about everywhere and nothing. My friend Helen is hosting the Macro Mondays group this week so I wanted to come up with something for the theme. I decided it was time to widen the search, my son Daniel happened to be home so it was time to see what he had. Well Daniel has all kinds of fictitious action figures that come as models and he assembles. Both my son's grew up in the war gaming world, my one son designs them for a living and Daniel enjoys putting them together. I chose Unicorn, a derivation of the original Gundam, a little warrior ready for battle. I'm good with that and that's the extent of my knowledge so please no questions. I will add you're looking at 1.5 inches from the tip of his helmet wing thing to the bottom of the red marking on the shield he's holding. Shot with one light off to the left and some fairy lights in the back, for my good bokeh friends, sorry no bubbles from the Voigtlander...
Shot with: VOIGTLANDER, 125mm f/2.5 SL, MACRO APO-LANTHAR, shot @ f/4.0, 31 Layer Focus Stack Rendered w/Helicon Focus, (B,R5,S3).

Great lens from Voigtlander ... A good alternative if you can't afford the leica Summilux-m 50mm asph (3 880 euros)
the only negative issue is the 90 cm minimum focus distance.
These are tiny screws laid on a mirror. They were taken in natural light using Z6ii + 105mm macro lens. An LED light was used for highlights. The total width is about 1.5 inches.
Shores Acres, OR - Flowers - Red Hot Poker
“Kniphofia also called tritoma, red hot poker, torch lily, knofflers or poker plant, is a genus of flowering plants in the family Xanthorrhoeaceae, first described as a genus in 1794. It is native to Africa. Herbaceous species and hybrids have narrow, grass-like leaves 10–100 cm (4–39 in) long, while perennial species have broader, strap-shaped foliage up to 1.5 m (5 ft) long. All plants produce spikes of upright, brightly colored flowers well above the foliage, in shades of red, orange and yellow, often bicoloured. The flowers produce copious nectar while blooming and are attractive to bees. In the New World they may attract sap-suckers such as hummingbirds and New World orioles.
The Kniphofia genus is named after Johann Hieronymus Kniphof, an 18th-century German physician and botanist.” [Wiki]
