Sydney [Stranger #22][Explored #1 on 23rd Sep 2019]
This picture is #22 in the 100 Strangers Project - Round 3
Meet Sydney
Was in Bethesda a few days back - after quite a while. Approaching strangers is always a challenge - and its not changed even after 200 plus strangers, and a big gap certainly doesn't help. After a couple of failed attempts I was planning to call it a day - but during my walk back I noticed Sydney at the counters through the glass of a jewelry store. Her sense of dressing and fashion with that hat and a superb personality was attention grabbing even through the glass. Realizing that it was near closing time, I actually stepped into the store (first time have done that) and made my request. And luckily for me Sydney accepted my request and stepped outside the store for a few minutes.
To say that this beautiful young lady was a natural would be a understatement - be it her confidence or her ability to express/pose. Despite the rushed and random nature of these pictures working with a stranger, she just rocked the pictures, despite being on the street. And did I mention the expressive eyes and her enthusiasm and happy vibe. I can only imagine how great she would do in a more coordinated session.
Sydney, besides being a store manager is also a student, working towards a degree in social studies I believe. She has been a trained ballerina which I think shows in the way she carries herself. She's only 22 years, but has already moved 14 times already - across the length and breadth of the USA and also Canada, courtesy of her dad who was a chef. Her favorite quality of herself - her ability to connect with people which was very visible during our interaction. Her favorite memory - her time in Canada leading up to the Olympics and the actual event. Where does she see herself in 10 years - married with a happy family and a successful career.
Thanks a lot Sydney for being a part of my project - it was a pleasure doing these pics. I wish you all the very best for your future and in achieving your dreams
