Andrew Cookston
JSA
With the passing of the late Darwyn Cooke, I've really wanted to make some kind of tribute to him. He inked a cover of Justice Society of America #54 from 2011. That cover blew my mind the first time I saw it! It has these enormous letters with golden-yellow beams of light shining through them from behind. All while the JSA members are flying into action through the giant initials; JSA!
Darwyn was an incredible artist and a really good person, and it's a real shame he's no longer with us. I talked a bit more about my feelings when he passed over here: flic.kr/p/Gf7BVL
But despite it all, his artwork lives on to inspire me no matter what has happened. ...So this is me giving back to him I guess... if only a little bit.
Rest your soul Mr Cooke, may you be remembered ever fondly.

Sad to say, not all my JSA members made it into this final image. Some honorable mentions include Power Girl, Dr Fate, Mr Terrific, and Hawkgirl. These were mostly due to to the lack of quality elements at the time! Like a decent face printing for Mr Terrific, a good-enough torso for Hawkgirl... etcetera. This photo was taken about a week prior to Christo's Dr Fate being announced and I had no idea he was coming! I sent him an email for a private order yesterday morning and haven't got a response yet. Otherwise I would have saved this for a later date... Here's hoping I get him soon! ;)
But yeah, here's the inspiration for the build, Justice Society of America #54 66.media.tumblr.com/821a46ee97f4f04809c8715a5fdb8c9b/tumb...
Oh and another thing! I've noticed that there isn't a Lego JSA photo group here on flickr, so I felt so inclined to create one! Feel free to join in here if you guys have any good JSA figs or builds you'd like to share! :)
