The Berlin Zoo has two entrances: the "Löwen Tor" entrance at Hardenbergplatz in the immediate vicinity of the Zoologischer Garten S-Bahn/U-Bahn station and the "Elefanten Tor" entrance on Budapester Straße.

In the Museum of Zoology, University of Cambridge. This museum is a gem and worth a prolonged visit. I particularly enjoyed comparing the bone structures of mammals, a hippo, elephant, big cat etc to see how they had adapted to their different stresses and tasks.
We're fortunate to live in a very rural location with our garden backing onto open farmland. These Partridges wander into our garden several times a day to feed. Which enables me to wait patiently under a camouflage cover for them with my camera. I think they're a very pretty little bird and very photogenic with their colourful and interesting plumage. They're very skittish little things though and so patience is the virtue in waiting for them to approach close enough to get a lovely detailed shot like this.

I took this photo at the zoological gardens. I was standing near the glass panes of the seal pool when I noticed that the moving water was refracting the sunrays and conjuring up a lovely dancing rainbow on the pebbles of the stone floor.
I'm pretty sure people were wondering what this crazy woman was doing there on the ground ; ))
I was fighting a pretty nasty bug lately that had me coughing for weeks and made me very tired and listless. Now I'm slowly coming back.
I will try to catch up during the coming week : )

London, England
The Natural History Museum in London is a museum exhibiting a vast range of specimens from various segments of natural history. It is one of three major museums on Exhibition Road in South Kensington, the others being the Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. The Natural History Museum's main frontage, however, is on Cromwell Road.
The museum is home to life and earth science specimens comprising some 80 million items within five main collections: botany, entomology, mineralogy, palaeontology and zoology. The museum is a world-renowned centre of research specialising in taxonomy, identification and conservation. Given the age of the institution, many of the collections have great historical as well as scientific value, such as specimens collected by Charles Darwin.
The museum is particularly famous for its exhibition of dinosaur skeletons and ornate architecture—sometimes dubbed a cathedral of nature—both exemplified by the large Diplodocus cast which dominates the vaulted central hall.

Anthony's poison arrow frog (Epipedobates anthonyi) - El Oro Province, Ecuador
One of the stunning blue and red Epipedobates from a population in the El Oro Province. I saw this species in a quite a few different locales but only one site where they had this beautiful color pattern. This species is restricted to Southern Ecuador and the Northwest tip of Peru. They live in a variety of habitats in the foothills of the Andes Mountains however despite their plasticity when it comes to habitat they're listed as near threatened by IUCN. Dendrobatids are unusual among frogs in that they display parental care, in some species it is quite advanced. In this particular species the male guards the eggs for approximately 2 weeks until they hatch and then the male will carry the tadpoles to a water source such as a puddle where he leaves the tadpoles and they will eventually mature.

Mr. Giraffe came very close to me, so I asked him, "What do you think will happen to the yen going forward?" Then he said, "Don't be rude, don't ask me nonsense on a holiday afternoon. That's my answer." And he gave me a long tongue with his right side up. I felt a little relieved.
