On the 1st March 2011 members of the 404th Civil Affairs Battalion raised the United States Flag which was taken from Ground Zero. The flag was flown in Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, outside the Newman- Meister centre for Civil Military Affairs. The Battalion colours were also present.

When the fast spinning wheel is almost vertical, the bright lights are turned on and a strobing light flashes bright white from the center.
As a result, those lights acted as a camera's flash ~ which is how I was able to take focused shots of the passengers inside.

Once again missing my connection because of a delay at origination combined with a tight connection has made me rethink my strategy. When purchasing tickets, I always try to get the most economical flight with the least wasted time. But I have to admit that 75 minutes is not enough to get through customs at any largish airport... ever. A 75 minute connection requires everything to proceed exactly as scheduled and not five minutes off, and this never happens.
On the flight to Canada I sat next to a couple of Germans going on holiday. They have friends in the north of British Columbia, and they were all going hunting together, which they do every year. They were hoping for moose, in addition to other game. We had a brief conversation about whether you could make bacon from moose. We all agreed it was worth trying, as everything is better with bacon.
