White rain lily, Zephyranthes candida is a bulbous perennial white, crocus-like flowers. The flower is adorned with rich orange stamens in late summer and early fall.

Zephyranthes candida is native to South America in climate zones 7 - 10 but is commonly grown as an ornamental and subsequently naturalized in many parts of the world. Common names include autumn zephyrlily, white windflower, white rain lily, and Peruvian swamp lily.
All parts of the plant are considered mildly toxic.

Zephyranthes White (Zephyranthes candida), are also known as Rain Lilies as they bloom after the first bit of rain. They have dainty white flowers and will often flower in response to thunderstorms particularly in late summer and autumn. Zepyhranthes are excellent in all climates including the tropics and can be evergreen in some climates. No maintenance required, these are a true plant and forget bulb. Ideal for pots and containers.

These plants are really nice to see when flowering after we have some heavy rain showers. They have been captured with a Nikon D810 and Nikkor 200mm f/4D AF IF ED lens at my daughters garden.
