SUMMER 2004 ZANTE ZAKYNTHOS

A view from the Cameo Island

..with Queen Anne's Lace growing wild on the bank.

Queen Anne's Lace, or Wild Carrot: Daucus carota.

I saw this female loggerhead snorkelling 2 days after I saw her on Kalamaki beach laying her eggs, during night survey. Night survey's are conducted by Archelon volunteers to tag and thus monitor the female turtles. You can see the red tag at the back right flipper

This female had also also a logger, that was put by the NMPZ, which was removed after she laid her eggs. The logger is a device that provides information (temperature, pressure) of the environment that the turtle chooses. to remain.
