I don't normally put selfies on Flickr but thought this was a fun photo of my youngest grandson who is 7 1/2 months old having lunch with me today in Vancouver. A very happy boy.
Today I did go on my second Silhouette Shooting trip and I like what did come out!

Tomitheos' body painting tips
Swiss Guard. Corps of Swiss soldiers responsible for the safety of the pope. They serve as personal escorts to the pontiff and as watchmen for Vatican City and the pontifical villa of Castel Gandolfo.
It was a spontaneous snapshot. I just saw him walking through the gate. He was looking into my direction, not yet with the official expression guards usually have. I was touched because he looked so young. The quality is not perfect, it was quite dark there and I used a high iso. It is already 3 years ago, but I still like this picture. This is the reason I decided to post it in this small series of three images from Italy / Ostia / Rome, it was one of the most memorable photographic moments for me during this week.

I thought I would do a +/- 30 years image. On the left the Face-App algo version of me in my 20's and on the right in my 80's. The left is reasonably accurate, but I think I actually looked a bit younger back then!

This photo was enhanced and refurbished using a combination of editing tools including FaceApp, Remini, Adobe Lightroom, and Paintshop Pro.

There was this bunch of kids on the beach the other day... absolutely mesmerized by what they were experiencing! They were probably Americans and they had arrived on a cruise ship and they spent a whole lot of time trying to capture the Mykonos sunset magic with P&S cameras, cell phones and whatever was available to them... They even used sunglasses in front of the lens as a kind of filter...

I was busy taking pics on a Rainy day, when this guy came from a superstore nearby and started asking a lot of questions about photography and stuff. so i eventually ended up asking him for the photograph, which i think was all that he was interested in - so he was really glad to pose for me... :)

How awesome would it be to go back to being 19 years old for just one week? I've heard the expression "Youth is wasted on the young"..... now I understand exactly what that means!

I started travelling internationally right after finishing college when I took a teaching position in Kuwait. Over the decades of my career, my partner and I have continued to work in or explore different parts of the world. More recently, since taking early retirement, we manage to spend around five months away during Canadian winters.
I kept track of all the places with a blogged list. In 2018, I decided it would be useful to find a single, personal image to represent each country I've visited. I have put these into a single Flickr Album. A photograph may occasionally be updated if we have a return visit.
These are organized alphabetically. You should be able to go forward or background from the image's main page where you can also see the names, and dates. In most cases the EXE date is correct. Some images may have been scanned and dates approximated.

The Regency Ballroom is at the corners of Sutter Street and Van Ness Avenue to the east and south and Van Ness and Fern to the north.
