They learn the harsh reality from the sea.
..And the school teaches them about an ocean of dreams.

I saw people feeding snacks to the squirrels in Minoru Park.
There are two kinds of squirrels in the park.
Some of them quickly went to bury the food under the bushes. Those are the older ones. Some of them will eat it immediately, like the one in my picture. They are the younger ones.
These are different habits of different generations. Young people tend to enjoy life more. They will consume and spend the money for instant pleasures while the older generation tends to save more.
Actually may be the reverse should be the way it is. When you are old, you should spend the money or otherwise we will end up with six digits in the bank before your last breath. Or at least we should make the donations to the people or stray pets that need care or help in our last days.

my daughter reflected in her (surface broken) cellphone... oh what does this 'toy' do to the young generation? youth by now unthinkable without this device, it seems to take away so many things, among them attention, what does it give...?

My son & I were perusing books, each of our particular interests his art, and mine fashion at the Japanese bookstore "Kinokuniya" bookweb.kinokuniya.co.jp/ohb/02/contents/eb04.html across the street from "Bryant Park" bryantpark.org/ I noticed a very colourful & fashionably dressed youngman also looking at fashion books, and I asked him if he was studying fashion design, perhaps at one of the Design Schools in NYC. He told me he was a stylist who styles "Street Fashion Wear", & produces fashion shows among other things through his production company "Nice in Harlem" niceinharlem.com/about/ in NYC. I introduced myself to him, and his younglady friend Jada, and told him about the "100 Strangers Project", asking him if I may photograph him. He, of course, said yes, and proceeded to prepare himself for the photo. His name is Nice, yes...Nice which was also tattooed on his wrist (believe it or not I did not take a photo!) Nice is one of the young generation of entrepreneurs creating their own style, and selling it to the public...successfully! Thank you, Nice for being my #13 Perfect Stranger!

She is Huong Nguyen from Hanoi, Vietnam and she aspires to become a successful accountant someday. She works part time in a coffee shop to support her studies. She wishes to get some scholarship to a developed country like Japan or USA, study there, know about the new culture and place and then return to her country as a successful woman.
Study reveals that although collectivism and ethics is still important, young Vietnamese girl now want to make their life decisions based on their personality and needs. Social and family pressure is becoming less important.
Elite wealthy Chinese children in expensive private schools enjoy the taste of technology and consumerism through western video games as millions struggle just to go to public school. Even as their foreign teacher I can not afford to have my chld attend their school with my above average pay. Chihnese Extreme income gap creates division for future generations
Shimizu is an explorer in many sense, he loves to explore places, people, language, cuisine and culture! He is native Japanese speaker, has mastered Vietnamese and English and wishes to learn few more languages. There is something special about his personality which makes him popular with girls wherever he goes!
