"New night, new day
New place, new prey
New rules, new names
New ways, new game
Inside, insane
In fear, in changes
In need, in pain
In deep, enslaved
No light, no space
No signs, no state
No voice, no face
No choice, no grace
Been good, been brave
Been game, behaved
Been bad, been shamed
Been made, been tamed
Been cruel, been kind
Been tense, been fine
Been free, been tied
Seen time pass by
Been this, been that
Been out, been back
Been bold, been brash
Been cheap, been trash
Been weak, been strong
Been right, been on
Been there, been wrong
Been here too long."

Laowa 58mm F2.8 CA-Dreamer Macro 2X
6 shots stacked in Photoshop.
Since the Laowa is a totally manual lens , EXIF data doesn't exist. I think this one was f/11.0, exposure time who knows?
My wife keeps many of her shoes in labeled boxes. So it was easy for me to find this pair of high-top moccasin slippers of hers that zip up in the back.

Zippers are one of the cooler inventions. Metal ones seem to work better. YKK is maybe the largest manufacturer of zippers in the world. Chances are you've seen those letters on a zipper. Founded by Tadao Yoshida in Tokyo in 1934, YKK stands for Yoshida Kogyo Kabushikikaisha. Two different Americans are credited with inventing the zipper. That's all I got for history. HMM!

This is the zipper on an aqua fleece jacket. The inside of the jacket is white fleece, over-exposed in this image to mostly hide its texture.

Greetings from the Bimini Islands.
This place is so laid back it's unreal. Infact if it was any more laid back it would be in a coma. I walked into a bar 'the only bar' told em I'm a graffiti artist & said I wanna paint. In many places they'd have jogged me the fuck on. But not in this gaff . . .'Tek a look around mon & do ya ting'. Was the advice I was given.
I selected an old scuba divers hut & was told 'Go fe it' . The next day I drove down on my golf buggy in flip-flops & a wide brimmed hat (How chilled is turning up to paint in a fucking golf buggy?) Anyway! An hour into my piece a mush turned up & asked what I was doing. I started expalaining it said Drax etc. . ' No I mean what are you doing painting on my building?' . . Shit! The people in the bar didnt even own the building at the back. I apologized to the 'building's owner' but he thought it was hilarious. 'Dat guy in the bar, wait until I see him' He said cracking up at the scenario, then he told me not to worry & to carry on. .
Throughout the afternoon I was brought drinks, offered 'copius amounts of ganja' & well looked after. . The whole gaff loved the story of Mush turning up to find some gringo painting his property. Before I headed back to where I was staying the bar owner loaded me up with fresh conch & the best Lobster I've ever tasted. . .
"Carlsberg don't do graff sessions.Thank fuck the Bahamas does". . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
By the time I finishd I was inundated with offers to paint other places: A business premise, a hut, a roller gate, an old boat & some cunt's house. Fuck knows if anyone's asked the owners.
As I‘ve not decided on a native macro lens yet, I’m working with E mount lenses and extension tubes. For a change and as I wanted max bokeh I decided to give an M42 lens a chance and opted for my junk shop super tak. The stack of extension tubes, M42 adapter and lens was a bit of an unholy union bolted to my A7iii, but kind of like the effect it gave!
HMM!

PFB was started in 1991 it's aim to be an English style crew. 'English' as oppossed to the traditional style of NYC inspired crews. . In some ways it was a reaction to the direction that Hip Hop had taken. Many writers in England grew up on Hip Hop music. We felt that we were part of it. But in the late 80's it's direction changed & many on these shores felt allienated. There are too many specifics to go into but a good example would be Swing beat. No writer wanted to be associated with that. Many Hip hop'ers were into Jodeci etc. . To a lot of us Hip Hop sold it's soul to that stuff and other factors back then. It no longer represented us. . So we embraced our Englishness. If you look at many of the themes of PFB productions there's a hint of Patriotism about them. Even if some of it's 'tongue in cheek' Mint (R.I..P) liked the acronym Paddies Fighting Back. Other's preferred Patriots From Blighty. In 1986 we'd probaby have been called the Parkside Fresh Bombers or some shit like that . .We went to Glastonbury & Acid raves en-masse & prefered Football matches to Hip hop events where a bout of swing beating or some kind of political rally-esque scene was always simmering below the surface.. . One member did a God Save the Queen train & a James Bond whole car. Others did similar stuff. . This Bank piece is part of the PFB Crimewave series. . A nod to Brit Gangster shit like The Long Good Friday & The Italian job. . The Medievel mace attatched to my piece is also a nod to Englishness. It's a deliberate attempt to not have a B.Boy at the end with a 9mm. . . In essence what PFB represent's is: Graffiti writing comes from New York but we come from London. . Now! 'Hand over the farkin' money'.
Ive posted a version of this before but a (non writer) mate just came back from Samui and told me it's still up so I thought I'd give it another airing.
A nice day's painting this was too. We met the 13 Crowns crew from Bangkok (a top bunch of fellas/girls) and we had a bit of a scene when the burly French owner of this gaff turned up and told us to piss off. Skore's a mellow chap most of the time but this garlic muncher hadn't considered the law of the game that say's 'thou shalt not stop the Skore mid piece'. I took a back seat as some intense eyeballing enshewed before the Frenchman backed down and accepted that the cancelling of this project may have severe repercussions. I've no idea exacttly what was said but whatever it was Frenchy's obviously still flapping as 3 years later the piece is STILL UP.

This one's done in Back-packer land theres even a crusty dread to illustrate the point.. The use of the Thai flag in the fill-in is a cheap attempt to woo the locals..
Doing this peice was a nuisance.. Its amazing the stupid questions grown men will ask (Especially Americans) "Hey! How come you guys are doing this".... "are you guys supposed to be doing this?".. "Whats this in aid of?"... Etc etc
