Finn in black and white
Laowa 100mm lens f2.8
For my 365 in January I’m only capturing black and white photos with hardly no edits, as a challenge to myself, to look for light and shadows and the different ways I can use them. I will be using my iPhone at times and will have to edit to black and white. When using my Nikon, no edits only adding my watermark in the Snap-seed app Thanks for looking!
Yin and yang (Chinese: 阴阳; pinyin: yīnyáng; literally: ‘dark-bright’) are two concepts from Taoism, which are used to represent or refer to the two fundamental opposing and complementary, but interconnected, forces that are found in all things; and which this philosophy attributes to everything existing in the universe. Yin is the feminine principle, the earth, darkness, passivity and absorption. Yang is the masculine principle, the sky, light, activity and penetration.

Happy Equinox!
In London, the September or Autumn Equinox is on
Friday, 22 September 2017 at 21:02 BST. In the southern hemisphere it will be the opposite season - the Spring or Vernal Equinox.
It marks the moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator, the imaginary line in the sky above the Earth's Equator. Day and Night are approximately equal all over the world at this time. (Equinox means equal night)
Thank you for taking the time to visit, comment, fave or invite. I really appreciate them all.

An overhead view that helps to clarify that main floor layout. There is a driveway and main entrance on the upper left side of the model. This leads to the lobby of the tower, which then allows access to the single-story section at the back.
You can also see the sun-screens, terraces, and hedge at the lower right area. Break-out spaces.
Here, it finally depicts how the surfboards define the individual floors of the tower--and the overall skyline 'profile' of the building. Plus, you'd have some awesome sky terraces at the 'bow' and 'stern' of the floor plates!

More than 500 tons of stones and rocks are included in Portland’s Lan Su Chinese Garden, most notably the coveted Lake Tai stones (a kind of limestone featured by pores and holes) from one of China's largest freshwater lakes, which appear as tall mountain peaks throughout the Garden's landscape.
Chinese classical gardens follow a tradition in which each aspect conveys artistic effect and symbolic importance. The traditional delicate harmony between Yin and Yang, water and stone, shadow and light are balanced to manifest the Dao, or Way of Nature.
My dear friends .. wishing you a happy day and excellent weekend and week :-)
ps: I am going to be a away for a few days holiday *hooray* :)))

…don’t let me down*, because a rainy day is a memory of England, and offers opportunities to play with my new fast glass here at Pattywhack House.
Knick knack Pattywhack,
Give the dog a bone;
This old man came rolling home.

Photographed at Jogyesa Temple (조계사) in Seoul on May 4, 2025, during the celebration of Buddha’s Birthday (Seokga Tansinil; 석가탄신일), this ceremonial instrument is the Beopgo (법고, 法鼓), or “Dharma Drum”. During the celebration, the drum was struck by both local devotees and foreign visitors.
Traditionally made with cow and bull hide to symbolize Yin and Yang, its sound is considered an echo of Buddha’s teachings and is ritually intended to liberate beings in heaven and hell. The Beopgo belongs to the set of four sacred instruments (Samul; 사물) used in Korean Buddhist liturgy: the Beomjong (범종, 梵鐘) temple bell for beings living on Earth, the Beopgo for heaven and hell, the Mokeo (목어, 木魚) wooden fish for aquatic life, and the Unpan (운판, 雲판) cloud gong for beings of the sky.
Striking the drum three times is often interpreted as a symbolic homage to the Three Jewels (Sambo; 삼보): the Buddha (Bul; 불), the Teachings (Beop; 법), and the Community (Seung; 승). The practice of sounding these instruments together is meant to encompass all realms of existence, ensuring that no sentient being is left untouched by the Dharma. Even today, the resonant beating of the Beopgo can be heard in central Seoul, linking modern city life with centuries of Buddhist tradition.
