Bit of a fun shot. This Snowy Egret was on it's way back into the sea to carry on fishing when it sensibly paused for a moment. The fact that the wind had also whipped up it's crown feathers was a real bonus.
Taken at North Beach, Fort De Soto, Florida.
Thank you so much for stopping by and for leaving any comments or faves, they are very much appreciated.
Yikes! The stuff of nightmares. One thing you can say about Jasper is that he's passionate about play. He's a good athlete who can lay down some impressive bursts of power and speed. .
Be very careful he may be sneaking out of the frame on his way to your house and yard!!
for the Smile on Saturday theme of spiders!!
Btb did you know that the iPhone spider emo doesn’t translate over into the Flickr app comment section? So y’all get pumpkins instead of spiders and webs.

The Macro Mondays theme for 10/31 is fears/phobias!!
"Triskaidekaphobia is persistent, irrational and unwarranted fear of the number 13." It is#39 on the list of 100 fears on this site:
www.fearof.net/fear-of-the-number-13-phobia-triskaidekaph...
Must admit this is one of my ‘favorite’ fears and I am a bit prone to going out of my way to avoid 13s, although a dear one’s birthday is the 13th.
... (later) AND i just discovered....... Xanthophobia, Fear of the Color Yellow .... www.fearof.net/

For some reason this particular branch was very popular. It looked like there was going to be a crash landing on the Roseate Spoonbill below.
It is mating season and she was not in the mood. The Common Gallinule like the Common Coot run across the water to pick up speed to fly. The big feet help them run across water plants and water. They are fun to watch.
Spring is here and so are the flies. As Tofu has seen almost no flies during winter, he apparently needs some time to get used to them again. He was horrified when one landed on him ....
This snowshoe hare must have thought I was a predator when he looked up and saw me. The look on his face was priceless. He is lucky I wasn't one of the many lynx roaming about these days - or he would have been a goner.

Shooting directly into the sun is not a good idea, but the winter sun is rather wimpy in Alaska, so I did it anyway. When I brought the image up on my monitor - I liked the sun flares dancing in the foreground. Perfectly round, golden, and translucent - I found them fascinating. Any other time I would have deleted this image, blaming the flares for ruining my shot - but this time they are the focal point.
(I'll just blame this shot on cabin fever. It was captured at 11:28 AM)
This gull has a beak full of either a small snake or a really big worm. Caught this action at Ft DeSoto Florida.
Fun with a young robin - I hope your week starts out fantastic!
Thanks so much for your views, faves and comments!

This is how I vent my frustration! Unfortunately, I cannot dedicate this to anyone due to the explicit nature of my photograph...=]
Ya know I don't like spiders AT ALL, but I couldn't resist this picture, he seemed to be sitting there posing. Kevin held my shoulders so I wouldn't fall over the the edge of the drop off when I leaned out to take this; guess I was testing my own fears, and faith huh???? :-)
