RJ 1050 Zaječí -Šakvice

the train passed like it always does, twice a minute, every day, for decades. she sat in the gap between the carriages and looked at her phone. the city moved around her at sixty kilometers an hour. she didn't look up. the train didn't stop. they had an understanding.

Last year they repaired a stretch of local railway tracks. It was quite interesting to see how it was done.

captured at the hausvogteiplatz u-bahn station in the heart of berlin mitte, this image speaks to the rhythm of city life, where moments are fleeting, and the lines between movement and stillness blur. the yellow train, iconic to berlin, streaks across the frame, a symbol of constant motion in an urban environment. yet, amidst this rush, the young woman walks with a purposeful calm, embodying the quiet resilience often found in the city's commuters. the cool tones of her attire contrast against the warm yellow of the train, creating a visual dialogue between the individual and the collective, the transient and the permanent.

Were you wondering what the Robert Street Lift Bridge looked like when you sat your camera on the snow/ice of the Mississippi with an 8mm prime on a crop body? Now you know!

A new 8mm prime, the Rokinon HD8M-C, arrived on New Year's Eve, as did Kiddo #3, Mila. With the rest of the family now relatively settled at home, I ducked out for a few hours this afternoon to try and catch something interesting with the new toy. Wish the shadow weren't so prominent in the foreground, but, otherwise I'm fairly happy with the results. I've got a few other angles in mind when time allows - can't wait to shoot the light rail in both downtown areas here, should be pretty cool.

In any event, after getting piss bricked last time I attempted to shoot here, I was stoked to get a clean SD70ACe on the correct end of the helper set. This is a loaded Bayport train, which will soon be the only coal-fired power plant in the Twin Cities.

The Rhaetian Railway ABe 4/4 I is a 1 meter gauge railcar of the Rhaetian Railway (RhB).

Constructed: 1908–1911 (new), 1946–1953 (rebuilt).

In the years 2000/2001 railcars nos 30 and 34 were repainted in yellow and thus brought into their original appearance. As heritage vehicles they are operating as special trains on the Bernina line between Pontresina and Alp Grüm.

TasRail operates a freight service that connects the largest cities in Tasmania. Unfortunately they gave up passenger trains decades ago.

Here in the early morning light (about 6.00 am) we see a train delivering loads of cement to the silos beside the Mersey River. Although the locomotive shows Rosebery Mines, in this case he will be heading back to Railton to collect the cement which is loaded into these silos and shipped interstate. [Thank you to Stuart Rutherford for that information.] Rail and shipping working together.

Intercity and Sprinter Trains in Amsterdam Suburbs

It is always a bit ‘I hope it was looped’ when you see something set to recess in the Good Loops at Chelford, especially since the thinning out of the timetables. So, it was good to see that 1Q43 1835 Crewe to Crewe C.S. (L&Nwr Site) had been held and was still there once I drew up to the station. In this case, the interest was really due to 37057’s re-emergence onto the test circuits. I think this is its first foray into Cheshire, Tail End Charlie initially at the start of the nights fun on the east side of Manchester. Wednesday 9th June 2021.

Spent a few days in Berlin recently. Flickr seems to be broken. Photos missing, groups not working. After the Ricoh GRii, I am now trying out a Fuji X100F.

Piss Brick

Noun; Vulgar Slang.

A Union Pacific locomotive (usually a wide cab GE) whose paint or lettering is dirty, faded, or otherwise aesthetically displeasing.

Example: I shot a local today with an ACe, 70M, a pair of 60M's, a GP40-2, and, naturally, a piss brick on the point.

Hard to complain getting a train in perfect lighting in a great setting with a six pack of matching power, but, lordy, what a turd up front. ATCS showed this lined out of East Minneapolis, educated guess is that it might be YSPMP.

Rumor has it this bridge is slated for replacement in 2017.

Disparaging remarks about the paint aside, UP 9665 is ex-CNW 8601, which was the first production Dash 9 - not too shabby!
